2 走在佛法的路上, 你不能以「身」去完成, 你必須以「心」去走。 Walking on the path of Dhamma, you can’t use your “body”, You have to walk with your “mind”.

3 鎖在牢獄裡的只是這個身體, 不要讓心靈也被鎖住了。 Locked in the jail is only this body.
Never let your mind be locked within.

4 我們僅祇是這具身體的訪客, 就如在這裡的廰堂一樣, 它並不真的是我們的, 我們只不過是暫時的房客。

5 沒有人任何人能替你做, 光聽別人說也無法斷除你的疑惑。 唯一能斷除疑惑之道, 就是你親自做一次地完全放下。

practice. Teaching can only provide a method for understanding. If you want to comprehend Dhamma, you have to immerse the Teaching in your mind.

7 任何嘗試要強迫自己平靜下來, 都只是執著和欲望的表現, 反而會阻礙你注意力安定下來。
Any attempt to force yourself to be calm, is a form of attachment and desire. It will only hinder your Concentration. 任何嘗試要強迫自己平靜下來, 都只是執著和欲望的表現, 反而會阻礙你注意力安定下來。

8 當你做每一件事情時, 你必須心裡很明白,很清楚。 當你看清楚時, 就不需要去忍或勉強你自己了。 你感到受障礙與有負擔, 是因為你不了解這點!
Your mind has to be very focus and clear when you are doing anything. When you are clear, you don’t have to tolerate or force yourself. You feel hindrances and burden because you don’t understand this. 當你做每一件事情時, 你必須心裡很明白,很清楚。 當你看清楚時, 就不需要去忍或勉強你自己了。 你感到受障礙與有負擔, 是因為你不了解這點!

9 而是要洞見和絕滅使我們一開始就無法平靜的原因。
The purpose of meditation is not only to calm oneself, liberate oneself from worries and troubles, we must have insight and eliminate the cause of our unsettled mind. 禪修的目的不僅於經常平靜自己, 讓自己脫離憂惱而已, 而是要洞見和絕滅使我們一開始就無法平靜的原因。

Those (body) parts where the sensation rises, is where we can gain Enlightenment and our Wisdom (panna). 這些感覺生起的地方, 就是我們能夠開悟, 智慧能夠生起的地方。

12 學習去辨認「欲望」 和「需要」的不同。 Learn to differentiate the difference

13 混亂升起的地方,就是寧靜可以升起的地方; 那裡有混亂,我們透過智慧,那裡就有寧靜。
The place where chaos arises, is the place where calmness will arise; whenever there is chaos, through our Wisdom, there will be serenity (samadhi). 混亂升起的地方,就是寧靜可以升起的地方; 那裡有混亂,我們透過智慧,那裡就有寧靜。

14 平靜是引發智慧的基礎, 而智慧則是平靜的成果。 Calmness (concentration) is the foundation of
Wisdom, and Wisdom is the result of Calmness (samadhi). 平靜是引發智慧的基礎, 而智慧則是平靜的成果。

15 覺知者如實地徹見, 而不因變遷的現象而快樂、悲傷。
The Awakened with insight, sees things as it is. He will not be happy or sad due to the impermanent (anicca) changing Conditions. 覺知者如實地徹見, 而不因變遷的現象而快樂、悲傷。

16 快樂不是我們的歸宿, 痛苦不是我們的歸宿, 內心的平靜才是我們真正的歸宿。 如實了解事物的真相, 並放下對一切外緣的執著,
以一顆不執著的心作為你的依歸。 Happiness is not our home, suffering is not our home, Calmness (samadhi) in the mind is our true home. Realize the truth (changing) of all the matters, let go of all the attachments, and take refuge in the non-attached mind.

17 我們必須如實地看事物 感覺只是感覺, 念頭也只是念頭。 這就是結束所有我們問題的方法。
We must see things as they are: feelings are only feelings; and thoughts are only thoughts. This is the method to end all our problems. 我們必須如實地看事物 感覺只是感覺, 念頭也只是念頭。 這就是結束所有我們問題的方法。

18 You must be able to see the happiness within the imperfect nature.

22 沒有人能教你這個真理, 只有當「心」親自瞭解時, 它才能滅絕和捨棄執著。

23 別執著良善,別執著邪惡; 這些都是世間的性質。 我們修行以超越世間, 從而將這些事情帶往終點。
Don’t attach to good and evil; these are the quality of the mundane world. Practise dhamma is to transcend the mundane world, so as to bring them to the final destination. 別執著良善,別執著邪惡; 這些都是世間的性質。 我們修行以超越世間, 從而將這些事情帶往終點。

24 如果我們做事只是為了求得回報, 它將只會引起痛苦。 修行不再是為了得到什麼, 而是為了放下!
If the purpose of doing things is to get rewards, then it will cause pain and suffering. Practising dhamma is not looking for anything but just want to let go.

25 即使連定(平靜)都不該去執著。 You shouldn’t be attached even if you have
attained samadhi (full concentration). 即使連定(平靜)都不該去執著。

26 坐禪不是要「得」到任何東西, 而是要「除」去所有一切。 Meditation is not to gain anything but
