“ClearCase also provides a unique workspace management facility we call dynamic views that makes your workspace setup really fast and lets you simultaneously work on multiple releases, without copying files to your local disk. Dynamic views provide you a ‘view’ of all the files you need to do your work, without making local copies.  So, for example, you might need to access the files in release one. A dynamic view of the release one files gives you instant access to them. “But then you also might need to work on the release one bug fix branch. You just set up a view of the that stream, check out the files you need and you’re up and running. Similarly, you can set up as may additional views as you need -- something you’d never consider with copy-based CM systems because they’d take too long as well as consuming too much disk space.

Key Points Explain that when there are conflicting changes in the versions, ClearCase invokes the Diff Merge tool to resolve the differences. Introduce the Diff Merge tool — explain the various windows. Explain that non-automatic merges require the user to make decisions about each conflict before the merge can proceed. Merge results pane When there are conflicting changes in the contributors to be merged, ClearCase performs a non-automatic merge. ClearCase opens the graphical Diff Merge tool to resolve the differences. The user must decide which contributor to use for each of the other conflicting diffs. The Merge Result window displays the merged version. The upper window contains a preview of the selected version. The lower windows display the contents of the base contributor, the “from” contributor, and the “to” or target contributor. The diff merge tool highlights differences among the versions. The toolbar allows you to step, diff by diff, through the merge. You can accept or override the merge result. Contributor 1: The version that you are delivering FROM Contributor 2: The version that you are delivering TO Base contributor: The original version

Arima 現有四個研發中心分別設立於新竹和中和，大陸地區的南京和杭州。因此需異地之間的平行開發或處在不同網域的情況下做資源分享的機會也會增多，故預計將採用Multi-Site Solution ，使兩地以上共同進行軟體開發更為有效率。 Integrate ClearQuest with Product Development Management Platform Arima 預計將ClearQuest 問題追蹤管理系統與現有產品開發管理平台進行整合，讓管理者能夠透過單一管理介面了解產品開發案的整合資訊，以便未來能夠更有效率的管理專案的開發。
