5 提阿非罗大人哪，有好些人提笔作书，述说在我们中间所成就的事，是照传道的人，从起初亲眼看见，又传给我们的。 2 3 这些事我既从起头都详细考察了，就定意要按着次序写给你， 4 使你知道所学之道都是确实的。 Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, 2 just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. 3 Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, 4 so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught. – Luke 1:1-4

The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan. 10 Cush was the father of Nimrod, who grew to be a mighty warrior on earth. 1 Chronicles 1:1-10

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. – Jeremiah 29:11-13

21 主所应许的尚未成就，有人以为他是耽延，其实不是耽延，乃是宽容你们，不愿有一人沉沦，乃愿人人都悔改。 10 但主的日子要像贼来到一样。那日天必大有响声废去，有形质的都要被烈火销化。地和其上的物都要烧尽了。 11 这一切既然都要如此销化，你们为人该当怎样圣洁，怎样敬虔， 12 切切仰望神的日子来到。在那日天被火烧就销化了，有形质的都要被烈火熔化。 13 但我们照他的应许，盼望新天新地，有义居在其中。 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. 11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. – 2 Peter 3:9-13

26 你们祈求，就给你们。寻找，就寻见。叩门，就给你们开门。 8 因为凡祈求的，就得着。寻找的，就寻见。叩门的，就给他开门。 9 你们中间，谁有儿子求饼，反给他石头呢？ 10 求鱼，反给他蛇呢？ 11 你们虽然不好，尚且知道拿好东西给儿女，何况你们在天上的父，岂不更把好东西给求他的人吗？ 12 所以无论何事，你们愿意人怎样待你们，你们也要怎样待人。因为这就是律法和先知的道理。 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. – Matthew 7:7-12
