2 5.X.3 tell-tale of low battery energy ( applied to BEV)
If a low energy content of the REESS has a relevant impact on the vehicle normal driving, there should be an obvious yellow tell-tale （ Symbol in Figure 1 ）to remind the driver that the vehicle should be charged as soon as possible. At the indicated low state of charge specified by the vehicle manufacturer.but remaining battery energy shall meet the following requirements: a) It shall be possible to move the vehicle 3km？ using its own propulsion system. A minimum energy reserve shall still be available for the lighting system as required by National and/or International Standards or regulations, when there is no independent energy storage for the auxiliary electrical systems. 提醒信号装置工作时，剩余电量能够行驶的距离由制造厂自行规定，因为，各国的交通状况，充电站设置情况以及车辆本身的设计各不相同,所以能够行驶的的里程不作规定，但作为电动车的特殊性，规定了a,b两条最低的安全保证 Figure 1

3 why Currently, all conventional vehicles equip low fuel tell-tale . When there is little fuel left, warning yellow tell-tale shall light to alert the driver to refuel as soon as possible. For electric vehicles, the only difference between conventional vehicle is that the fuel warning device is replaced by a charging tell-tale . Safety requirements for conventional vehicles have been established, and have formed a complete safety regulation architecture, including general safety, active safety and passive safety, etc. Different safety requirements belongs to different regulations.

4 2018/11/29 ECE R121 have specified the mandatory tell-tales and indicators, including the fuel level tell-tale’s color and symbols. The regulations of conventional vehicles in US, Japan and China also have already included this fuel level warning requirements.
