1 英语口语比赛要点1 茂名职业技术学院

2 比赛目的 深化高职高专英语课程教学改革，进一步展现和提高本学院学生英语口语表达能力，激发学生学习英语的积极性。

3 竞赛方式与内容 大赛分公共英语组和英语专业组，采取淘汰方式产生优胜者 1．公共英语组
1）即兴演讲：选手提前15分钟抽取比赛题目并开始准备，演讲时间为2-3分钟； 2）回答问题：由主考官就选手即兴演讲内容提出2-3个问题，回答问题的总时间为2分钟； 即兴演讲和回答问题两项分数相加，排名在前50%（4舍5入）以内的选手进入下一轮比赛。 3）职场口译：职场口译模拟一个职场岗位工作场景，要求选手完成一次口头英汉互译的工作任务，时间为3分钟。

4 竞赛方式与内容 2．英语专业组 1）即兴演讲：选手提前15分钟抽取比赛题目并开始准备，演讲时间为2-3分钟；
2）回答问题：由主考官就选手即兴演讲内容提出2-3个问题，回答问题的总时间为2分钟； 即兴演讲和回答问题两项分数相加，排名在50%（4舍5入）以内的选手进入下一轮比赛。如果进入前50%的人数为单数，则根据排名顺序多取1名参加下一轮比赛。 3）职场辩论：采取一对一的方式进行辩论，对手和出场顺序均抽签决定。首先，正方和反方分别对命题进行陈述，时间各为1分钟；随后双方针对对方的观点进行3分钟的反驳辩论。职场辩论总时间为5分钟。

5 比赛题型 公共英语组 Part I Making a Short Speech （3 minutes）
Task: -- You are required to make a short speech according to the following situation.-- You’ll have 15 minutes for preparation. Sample: Suppose you have worked as a sales employee in after-sales department in the ABC Company for one year and you will be promoted to human resource department as an assistant manager. Please make a short good-bye speech to your old colleagues at the farewell dinner.

6 比赛题型 Part II Answering Questions (2 minutes)
Task:-- You are required to answer 2-3 questions by a question master about the speech you have just made.-- You’ll have no time for preparation. You must finish answering all the questions in 2 minutes. Sample questions: Please describe your duty as a sales employee. How will you plan your career as an assistant manager in the Human Resources Department? Can you tell us why you got promoted?

7 比赛题型 Part III Making a Workplace Interpretation (3 minutes)
Task:-- You are required to act as an interpreter and interpret a short conversation between a Chinese and a foreigner from English to Chinese or from Chinese to English.-- You’ll have no time for preparation.

8 比赛题型 Sample: A: I’m so glad to meet you again, Mr. Li! Will you tell me more about your factory? (You：李先生，很高兴再次见到你！请你多告诉我一些你们工厂的情况好吗？) B: 很乐意! 我们厂是专门生产体育服装的，包括运动套装、运动鞋袜和帽子。 （You：My pleasure. Our factory is engaged in manufacturing sports ware, including sports suits, shoes, socks and caps.） A: That’s great! Ours is a large multi-national trading company, specializing in the import and export of sports facilities and clothing. (You：太好了！我们是一家大型跨国贸易公司，专门从事各种体育器材和服装的进出口贸易。) B：是吗？或许我们可以成为合作伙伴啊！ (You：Really? Perhaps we can become partners.)

9 比赛题型 A: I hope so! Do you make OEM products or your own brand name products? (You：希望如此！你们是做贴牌生产还是有自主品牌？) B：我们以生产自主品牌产品为主，同时也做来料加工。 (You：We mainly make our own brand name products, and at the same time we also make OEM products.) A: Can I visit your factory some time next month? (You：我能在下个月拜访贵厂吗？) B：当然可以，随时欢迎！ （You：Sure, any time!） A: I’ll discuss the details with you via , OK? (You: 我们将通过电子邮件来讨论细节，好吗？ B：好的。我们将期待着您大驾光临！ （You：That’s fine. We’ll look forward to your visit.）

Task: -- You are required to make a short speech according to the following situation.-- You’ll have 15 minutes for preparation. 18 部分题目-- 第一个环节 Topics for part 1&2: making a short speech and answering questions. Paper 1 Suppose you are a secretary working in Lenovo Company and you will responsible for bidding farewell to some clients from the USA. The managing director asks you to arrange a farewell dinner for them. Please give a farewell speech for them. Question 1: Please discribe your duty as a secretary. Question 2: What do you want to learnt about the companies if you are going to attend the China Import and Export Fair? Question 3: What aspects should you pay attention to when you are bidding the farewell party? Question 4: Please describe when and where should a farewell dinner be held. Question 5: Have you ever attend a welcome dinner? Please talk about your experience.

You would like to start the working hour an hour late at 9’clock by cutting the lunch break to one hour while some other colleagues think that they need two hours in the middle of the day to have lunch and a nap. Please make a speech to state your reasons to persuade them. Question 1: How do you know about the process of a negotiation? Question 2: How much do you know about the process of a negotiation? Question 3: Have you ever bargained with your seller? Talk about your experience.
