主詞+動詞(be動詞)+受詞 I know it. I am a teacher. 主詞+動詞(be動詞)+to+動詞 I try to do my best. I want to go. 主詞+動詞(be動詞)+動詞+ing I forget giving him some money. I am going to Taipei. CSIE dept. at STU university

直 述 句 (II) 主詞+動詞(be動詞)+受詞 主詞可以為名詞或代名詞 如: people, cat, dog, car, I you, he, they 動詞必須為及物動詞 ─ vt 如: get, do, drive… Be動詞 如: am, are, is, was, were CSIE dept. at STU university

直 述 句 (III) 主詞+動詞(be動詞)+受詞 受詞可以為名詞或是受詞代名詞 如：flower, student, me, you, him, her, them 直述語句結束時必須加上句點(‧) CSIE dept. at STU university

主詞+動詞(be動詞)+to+動詞 大部分的動詞與動詞間必須加上to 如: I want to do. He tries to do it. She goes to help him. CSIE dept. at STU university

主詞+動詞(be動詞)+動詞+ing 少部分的動詞與動詞相連接時，第二個動詞需加上ing 如: I mind doing that. The child keeps asking me questions. She likes playing the piano. CSIE dept. at STU university

直 述 句 (VI) 某些動詞可以 動詞+動詞+ing 與 動詞+to+動詞 forget, remember 如: I forget to do it. I forget doing it. He remembers to write it. He remembers writing it. CSIE dept. at STU university

肯定句 句子的涵義為肯定的意義 I like her. He shows me his car. She likes to make up. CSIE dept. at STU university

否定句 句子的涵義為否定的意義 句子加上助動詞+not, be動詞+not, 或是否定的副詞 I don’t like her. He is not my student. She never made up. CSIE dept. at STU university

疑問句 句子的涵義為問句的意義 在一般句子前加上助動詞或be動詞 在句子後加上(？) Do you like me? Is he my student? Does she like to make up? CSIE dept. at STU university

否定疑問句 若是助動詞或be動詞與not縮寫，可以直接放在句子前。 若是不為縮寫，助動詞放在句子前，not放在句子中。 Isn’t he my student? Does she not like to make up? CSIE dept. at STU university
