3 一.说教材 教材内容新颖,选题都趋向于学生的兴趣,有助于激发学生对教材内容的学习兴趣及对课本知识的掌握。 1.教材特点:
本单元选自《普通高中课程标准实验教科书》(人教版)必修4. 教材内容新颖,选题都趋向于学生的兴趣,有助于激发学生对教材内容的学习兴趣及对课本知识的掌握。

4 2.说教学对象: 教学对象是高一年级下学期的学生,他们的英语学习已经有了一定的基础。

5 二.说教学目标: 完成warming-up & reading 部分 1.知识目标:
学生要掌握重点词汇:represent, defense, crossroads, association等。 重点短语:defend against, in general等。 重点句型如:The first person to arrive was Tony Smith from Colombia, closely followed by Julia Smith from British.

6 2. 能力目标:通过本节课的学习,学生能用英语正确表达肢体语言并能了解其他国家的肢体语言。
3.情感目标:提高学生学习英语的兴趣,并让学生意识到尊重他国文化的重要性。

7 三.说教学重点与难点: 1.教学重点: 1)让学生掌握和熟练运用重点词汇、短语和句型。如:greet, represent, turns one’s back to, be like to. These actions are not good or bad, but are simply ways in which cultures have developed. 2)培养学生阅读技巧。

8 2.教学难点: ①学生对课文中难句的理解。 如:Yesterday, another student and I, representing our university’s student association, went to the Capital International Airport to meet this year’s international student. ②学生能根据实际情境自然地运用不同的肢体语言来进行交流。

13 Step 1. pre-reading (warming-up)
1) Greeting first. Then teacher do some body languages and ask students to guess the meaning. 2) Present two pictures which are from two countries and ask the students to describe them and find out the differences between them.

14 Step 2. while-reading 1) Fast reading 2) Listening
Ask the students to read the passage as fast as possible, and then finish the exercise: True or False. 2) Listening Ask the students to listen to the tape and then finish the exercise: multiple choice.

15 3) Second detail reading
Ask the students to read the passage again then teacher analyzes the difficult sentences and new phrases in details.

16 Step 3. post-reading 2) Summary
1)Ask students to finish the class exercises: Using words and phrases. 2) Summary Different countries have different cultures. And body language varies from culture to culture. Just like a saying goes that: When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

17 Step 4. Homework Remember new words and read the text again and again.
Role play different body languages after class and prepare the next class.
