THE GLORY OF DIVINE MEEKNESS IN CHRIST & IN US! The Glorious & Supernatural Nature of Genuine Humility 在基督以及我們裡面神聖謙卑的榮耀 真正謙卑 -榮耀的，超自然的本質 There is no greater experience we can have than an intimate relationship with our Creator God. 沒有任何經驗比與造物主上帝建立親密的關係更美好。 God promises to fellowship with the humble & contrite。 上帝應許與謙卑痛悔的人相交。

2 (Isaiah 57:15) “For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy;
賽57:15 - 因為那至高至上、永遠長存（原文作住在永遠）名為聖者的如此說： I dwell in the high and holy place, 我住在至高至聖的所在， with him also that is of a contrite & humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, & to revive the heart of the contrite ones. 也與心靈痛悔謙卑的人同居；要使謙卑人的靈甦醒，也使痛悔人的心甦醒。

4 What is Humility 何謂謙卑 “freedom from pride & arrogance; humbleness of mind (Acts 20:19); a modest estimate of one's own worth. “沒有驕傲與傲慢；心態的謙虛；謙遜地估量自我價值。” Humility consists of a deep sense of one's own unworthiness in the sight of God.” 它包括在上帝眼中對自我不配的深刻體會。 It is “submission to God’s will without murmuring.” 它是沒有抱怨地降服上帝的旨意。

5 MEEKNESS IS NOT WEAKNESS! 謙卑不是軟弱

6 Pride is one of the most besetting sins of the human race 驕傲是最困擾人類的罪惡
True Humility was practically unknown in the ancient world 真正的謙卑在古代幾乎不為人知， They considered it a vice rather than a virtue 他們認為謙卑是瑕疵而非美德。 Greek & Latin had no word for the Biblical idea of humility 希臘文與拉丁文沒有聖經意涵謙卑的字眼。

7 We all Struggle with being Humble 我們都有謙卑的掙扎

8 Meekness & humility was a grace which Jesus alone manifested as a Divine virtue (2 Cor. 10:1) 謙卑與柔順的恩典是只有耶穌才展現出來的 神聖美德（林後10:1）。 Jesus makes Humility possible for us as a “fruit of the Holy Spirit” (Gal. 5:22-23). 耶穌使謙卑成為我們可能結出的聖靈的果子 （加5:22-23）。

10 The entire Christmas story is permeated with revelations of Humility & meekness. 整個聖誕故事瀰漫著謙卑與柔順的啟示
Our Creator God humbled Himself to save a fallen, hurting, dying humanity (Phil. 2:7). 我們的造物主謙卑自己，來拯救墮落、受傷、瀕臨死亡的人類（腓2:7）。 Zecharias & Elisabeth: Their humility led to an encounter with the Living God (Lk. 1:5-25) 撒加利亞與伊莉莎伯：他們的謙卑導致他們遇見永活的上帝（路1:5-25）。 The virgin Mary: her humility led to an encounter with God 童貞女瑪利亞：她的謙卑導致她遇見上帝。

11 I.GOD REVEALS HIS HUMILITY BY THE INCARNATION 上帝藉著道成肉身顯明祂的謙卑
Only Jesus, with His perfect life & matchless teaching, elevated humility to the level of a primary virtue among humanity. 只有耶穌，以祂完美的人生和無法相比的訓誨，將謙卑提升為人世間一個主要的美德。 Jesus came to earth “to serve & give His life a ransom for many” (Mk. 10:45; 2 Cor. 5:19; Matt. 1:23). 耶穌來到世上“服事且捨身作多人的贖價” （可10:45）。 This is the heart of God! I must strive to be humble & meek. 這是上帝的心！我必須努力成為謙卑、柔順的人。g

(Phil. 2:6-9) Jesus “…made himself of no reputation, & took upon him the form of a servant, & was made in the likeness of men: 腓2:6-9 – 耶稣…虛己，取了奴僕的形像，成為人的樣式；  (2:8) And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, (2:8) & became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross 腓2:8  既有人的樣子，就自己卑微， 存心順服，以至於死，且死在十字架上。

We learn important truth: THE WAY UP IS DOWN! (James 4:10; Matt. 23:12) 我們學到重要真理： 上升的路是降下。 (like the paradox in an Escher painting)

14 How Did Jesus reveal the Glory of Divine Humility? 耶穌如何顯明神聖謙卑的榮耀？
By willingly becoming poor to make us rich: 祂情願成為貧窮，為使我們富足： “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich” (2 Cor. 8:9). 林後8：9 - 你們知道我們主耶穌基督的恩典：他本來富足， 卻為你們成了貧窮，叫你們因他的貧窮，可以成為富足。 Do you still want to be like Jesus? Are you at least Generous? 你仍然願意像耶穌嗎？你至少是慷慨的嗎？

15 How Did Jesus reveal the Glory of Divine Humility? 耶穌如何顯明神聖謙卑的榮耀
He gave up His crown in Heaven for the cross on earth. 祂捨棄自己天上的冠冕，換來地上的十架。 He gave up the riches of heaven for poverty on earth. 祂捨棄天上的財富，換來地上的貧窮。

The self existent God submitted to be parented. (Lk. 2:51) 自存的上帝順服被人間父母教養（路2:51）。 Jesus entered this world as a baby to be taken care of by imperfect parents. But he was subject unto them 耶穌以嬰孩進入世界，被不完美的父母照顧，但祂順從他們。 They even lost Jesus one time! (Luke 2:41-51) 他們有次甚至丟失耶穌（路2:41-51）！

17 Jesus reveals Divine humility in His teaching 耶穌的訓誨顯明祂神聖的謙卑
“Learn of me, for I am meek & lowly in heart” (Matt. 11:29). (Wow! Think about that) 我心裡柔和謙卑，你們當負我的軛，學我的樣式(太11:29）。 “And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, & to give his life a ransom for many” (Mark 10:44-45) 在你們中間，誰願為首，就必做眾人的僕人。因為人子來，並不是要受人的服事，乃是要服事人，並且要捨命作多人的贖價。」 (可10:44-45）

18 II. GOD AWAKENS IN US A DESIRE FOR HUMILITY: 上帝在我們裡面喚起謙卑的願望
We appreciate humility in others but don’t want it for ourselves. 我們經常感激他人的謙卑，但自己卻不願謙卑。 It’s opposite our human nature. 它違反基本人性。 So God has to motivate us to pursue Divine Humility… 所以上帝必須激發我們去追求神聖的謙卑…

19 God motivates us to pursue Divine Humility by: 上帝以下列方式激發我們追求神聖的謙卑：
Giving us a revelation of our eternal destiny: 將永恆目標的啟示賜給我們： “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God… For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son…” (Rom 8:28-29) 我們曉得萬事都互相效力，叫愛神的人得益處….因為他預先所知道的人，就預先定下效法他兒子的模樣… (羅8:28-29）。

Giving us a glorious revelation of Christ by the Holy Spirit: 藉聖靈讓我們看見基督的榮耀： “But we all… beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2Cor 3:18) 我們眾人既然敞著臉得 以看見主的榮光，好像從鏡子裡反照，就變成主的形狀， 榮上加榮，如同從主的靈變成的 (林後3:18）。 

21 God motivates us to pursue Divine Humility by: 上帝以下列方式激發我們追求神聖的謙卑：
Revealing to us how much we have suffered because of our pride! (Prov. 18:12; Isa. 2:11-12; Luke 1:51; I Pet. 5:5). 啟示我們因驕傲而遭受的苦難。 “Pride goeth before destruction, & an haughty spirit before a fall 驕傲在毀壞以先，狂心在敗倒之前。(Prov. 16:18) Illus: Study the fall of the Proud (Dan. 4:30-37; 5:22; Deut. 8:2-3) 例：研究驕傲人的跌倒。（但4:30-37,5:22；申8:2-3）

GOD IMPARTS HUMILITY TO US THROUGH THE INDWELLING CHRIST 上帝經由內住的基督將謙卑賜給我們 We only have true humility as Christ lives in us (Col 3:10-12) 只有當基督住在我們裡面時，我們才有真正的謙卑 （西3:10-12）。 “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Col 1:27-28; John 17:22-3). “基督在你們裡面是榮耀的盼望”’（西1:27-28；約17:22-23）。 “It is no longer I that live but Christ who lives in me” (Gal. 2:20). “不再是我，乃是基督在我裡面活著” （加2:20）。

25 IV. What will GENUINE humility look like in us? 我們裡面真正的謙卑為何？
“But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me” (1Cor. 15:10) 然而，我今日成了何等人，是蒙神的恩才成的，並且他所賜我的恩不是徒然的。我比眾使徒格外勞苦；這原不是我，乃是神的恩與我同在（林前15:10）。 Grasping GRACE makes us Hard Working Humble Servants 明白恩典，使我們成為勞苦工作的謙卑僕人。

26 Genuine Humility comes from understanding God Created Each of us Special 真正的謙卑來自明白上帝特別地塑造我們每一人
“For who maketh thee to differ from another? 使你與人不同的是誰呢？ and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? 你有什麼不是領受的呢？ now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?” (I Corinthians 4:7) 若是領受的，為何自誇，彷彿不是領受的呢？ (林前4:7）

27 约13:14 - 我是你們的主，你們的夫子，尚且洗你們的腳， 你們也當彼此洗腳。
“Christ in Us” Motivates & Empowers us to Serve Others “基督在我們裡面”激發，並賜我們力量去服事他人 (John 13:14) “If I then, your Lord & Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's (dirty) feet. 约13:14 - 我是你們的主，你們的夫子，尚且洗你們的腳， 你們也當彼此洗腳。 (13:15) For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.” 约 13:15  我給你們作了榜樣，叫你們照著我向你們所做的去做。 (study Phil. 2:3; Lk 14:7-11; Eph. 4:2; Titus 3:2)

28 V.) The Rewards of Humility 謙卑的獎賞
To the degree that we humble ourselves we will experience the great rewards of meekness. 我們謙卑自己的程度，將經歷同等謙卑程度的獎賞。 1. Meekness brings an inner tranquility of spirit & soul. 謙卑帶來內在靈魂的平靜， It eliminates the conflicts due to pride, envy & covetousness (James 3:13-15). 它消除來自驕傲、嫉妒，和貪心的衝突（雅3:13-15）。

29 2. God “will beautify the meek with salvation” (Ps. 149:4)
Let your adorning “be … the ornament of a meek & quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.” (I Pet. 3:3-4) 要以裡面存著長久溫柔，安靜的心為妝飾；這在神面前是極寶貴的 (彼前3:3-4）。 Illustration: The lady who confessed her sin of pride to the pastor

30 3. The Meek receive God’s direction for life: 謙卑人蒙上帝指引人生的方向
“the meek will he guide in judgment: & the meek will he teach his way” (Ps. 25:9; 32:8-9) 他必按公平引領謙卑人，將他的道教訓他們 (诗25:9）。 Are you worried or wondering about your Future? Then humble yourself before God & let Him lead you (Ps. 119:105) 你担心自己的未來嗎？在上帝面前謙卑下來，讓祂引導你 （詩119:105）。

31 4. The Meek will Prosper 謙卑人將興旺
“By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, & honour, & life” (Pro 22:4; James 4:10). 敬畏耶和華心存謙卑，就得富有、尊榮、 生命為賞賜 (箴22:4；雅4:10）。  If your life goal is to pursue riches, your life will be very disappointing (I Tim. 6:9, 17-19; James 5:1-3) 倘若你的人生目標是追求財富，你會很失望 （提前6:9,17-19；雅5:1-3）。

32 The book “Good to Great” by Jim Collins (2001) investigated what caused some companies to achieve stellar results. 從“優秀到卓越”作者Jim Collins調查某些公司閃亮成功的原因， One surprising finding was that the CEO’s of such companies are typically humble 令人吃驚的發現是這些公司的總裁基本上是謙卑的。
