David’s Crisis I Samuel 30:1-3 And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites (Israel’s enemies) had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire; And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way. Look to the Lord for Encouragement Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep. And David’s two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite. And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. 大 衛 和 跟 隨 他 的 人 就 放 聲 大 哭 ， 直 哭 得 沒 有 氣 力 。 大 衛 的 兩 個 妻 ─ 耶 斯 列 人 亞 希 暖 和 作 過 拿 八 妻 的 迦 密 人 亞 比 該 ， 也 被 擄 去 了 。 大 衛 甚 是 焦 急 ， 因 眾 人 為 自 己 的 兒 女 苦 惱 ， 說 ： 要 用 石 頭 打 死 他 。 大 衛 卻 倚 靠 耶 和 華 ─ 他 的 神 ， 心 裡 堅 固 。 I Samuel 30:4-6

Look to the Lord for the answer And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. And David inquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. . 大 衛 對 亞 希 米 勒 的 兒 子 祭 司 亞 比 亞 他 說 ： 請 你 將 以 弗 得 拿 過 來 。 亞 比 亞 他 就 將 以 弗 得 拿 到 大 衛 面 前 。 大 衛 求 問 耶 和 華 說 ： 我 追 趕 敵 軍 ， 追 得 上 追 不 上 呢 ？ 耶 和 華 說 ： 你 可 以 追 ， 必 追 得 上 ， 都 救 得 回 來 。 I Samuel 30: 7-8

Look to the Lord for Guidance So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed. But David pursued, he and four hundred men: for two hundred abode behind, which were so faint that they could not go over the brook Besor. And they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David 於 是 ， 大 衛 和 跟 隨 他 的 六 百 人 來 到 比 梭 溪 ； 有 不 能 前 去 的 就 留 在 那 裡 。 大 衛 卻 帶 著 四 百 人 往 前 追 趕 ， 有 二 百 人 疲 乏 ， 不 能 過 比 梭 溪 ， 所 以 留 在 那 裡 。 這 四 百 人 在 田 野 遇 見 一 個 埃 及 人 ， 就 帶 他 到 大 衛 面 前 ， 給 他 餅 吃 ， 給 他 水 喝 ， I Samuel 30: 9-11

Look to the Lord and glorify his name Then said David, Ye shall not do so, my brethren, with that which the LORD hath given us, who hath preserved us, and delivered the company that came against us into our hand. 大 衛 說 ： 弟 兄 們 ， 耶 和 華 所 賜 給 我 們 的 ， 不 可 不 分 給 他 們 ； 因 為 他 保 佑 我 們 ， 將 那 攻 擊 我 們 的 敵 軍 交 在 我 們 手 裡 。 I Samuel 30: 23

summary In the midst of a crisis, we must remember to… Look to the Lord for encouragement! Look to the Lord for the answer! Look to the Lord for guidance! And when He delivers you, don’t forget to… Look to the Lord and give Him the glory!
