雞同鴨講 (The Tower of Babel) Genesis 11:1-9

Genesis 11:1-2 1那時，全世界只有一種語言，大家說同樣的話語。2他們向東遷移的時候，在示拿地發現一塊平原，就住在那裡。(新譯本) 1Now the whole earth used the same language and the same words. 2 It came about as they journeyed east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. (NASB)  

Genesis 11:3-4 3他們彼此說:「來！我們做磚，把磚燒透吧！」他們就把磚當作石頭，又把石漆當作灰泥。4 他們又說:「來 3 They said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and burn them thoroughly.” And they used brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar. 4 They said, “Come, let us build for ourselves a city, and a tower whose top will reach into heaven, and let us make for ourselves a name, otherwise we will be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.”

Genesis 11:5-7 5耶和華下來，要看看世人建造的城和塔。6耶和華說：「看哪，他們同是一個民族，有一樣的語言，他們一開始就作這事，以後他們所要作的一切，就沒有可以攔阻他們的了。7 來! 我們下去，在那裡混亂他們的語言，使他們聽不懂對方的話。」 5 The LORD came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. 6 The LORD said, “Behold, they are one people, and they all have the same language. And this is what they began to do, and now nothing which they purpose to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, so that they will not understand one another’s speech.”

Genesis 11:8-9 8於是，耶和華把他們從那裡分散到全地上，他們就停止建造那城。9因此，那城的名就叫巴別【巴別就是變亂的意思】，因為耶和華在那裡混亂了全地所有的人的語言，又從那裡把他們分散在全地上。 8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of the whole earth; and they stopped building the city. 9 Therefore its name was called Babel [babel = confused], because there the LORD confused the language of the whole earth; and from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of the whole earth.   Genesis 11:4 They said, “Come, let us build for ourselves a city, and a tower whose top will reach into heaven, and let us make for ourselves a name, otherwise we will be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.”

Genesis 11:26 他拉活到七十歲，就生了亞伯蘭 (亞伯拉罕)、拿鶴和哈蘭。Terah lived seventy years, and became the father of Abram (Abraham), Nahor and Haran.   Genesis 12:1-2 耶和華對亞伯蘭說：你要離開本地、本族、父家，到我指示你的地方去。我必使你成為大國，賜福給你，使你的名為大，你也必使別人得福， Now the LORD said to Abram, “Go forth from your country, And from your relatives And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you; And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing;
