Background 背景 Academic cooperation was highlighted as a key element in the Memorandum of Understanding on reinforcing the EU-China IP Dialogue Mechanism, which was signed (with Ms. Cecilia Malmström, Commissioner for Trade, and Mr. GAO Hucheng, Minister of Commerce of China) on the sidelines of the EU-China Summit, on 29 June 2015 in Brussels. 欧盟贸易委员Cecilia Malmstrom女士与中国商务部部长高虎城先生在2015年6月29日于布鲁塞尔召开的中国欧盟领导人会晤期间，签署了《关于加强中欧知识产权对话机制的谅解备忘录》中，其中强调了开展学术合作能够起到的关键作用。 The EU-China IP Academic Network is an initiative to support exchange between EU and Chinese universities with specialised programs in the field of Intellectual Property. 中欧知识产权学术网络计划旨在支持具有知识产权方面特色项目的中欧高校之间进行交流。

Inception 初期发展 The aim is to support research and collaboration by creating opportunities to share ideas and conduct topical research to support policy making for the future. 中欧知识产权学术网络计划通过促进开展思想交流、专题研究的方式，支持高校间研究与协作，为未来的决策制定提供基础。 The initiative was launched during the first EU-China IP Forum in Suzhou organised by IP Key (May 2015). Since then it has been developed further in conjunction with European and Chinese universities in order to identify the joint interests and define how to best address those 2015年5月，上述计划在由IP Key主办、于苏州召开的首届中欧知识产权论坛期间，正式宣布上线。研究网络自此进一步发展，在中欧高校间建立联系，确认并规划符合双方共同利益点的相关工作。

Challenges taken 中欧知识产权学术网络－相关挑战 Language barrier  Mitigated by translation/interpretation 语言障碍通过翻译解决 Lack of availability of co-funding from the host institution mitigated by raising the awareness on the impact of this kind of research and the benefits it will bring to the institution itself. This will be emphasised by the Senior Researchers, Coordinators of the thematic working groups and by funding authorities. 东道机构缺乏共同资助提升对此类研究成效及对研究机构自身影响的关注。通过资深研究者、主题工作组协调者及出资机构展开 Lack of research project grants support will be provided by the Senior Researchers for the identification of strategic topics for potential funding 缺乏研究经费资深研究者通过明确潜在资助战略课题提供支持 Lack of coordination with the corresponding Network thematic group mitigated by the Senior Researchers who will nominate a new coordinator of the thematic working group, when needed and organise regular meetings for coordination (face-to-face, videoconference) 缺乏与相关主题群体的协调资深研究者在必要时提名新的主题工作组协调者，定期组织协调会议（面对面或视频会议）
