开源软件 开源课程管理系统MOODLE 目前世界上最著名的开源CMS是“MOODLE”（全称为Modular Object–Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment，面向对象的动态学习环境组件，简称MOODLE）。 这是由一位澳大利亚大学的网络管理员发起并组织开发的一个开放源代码的CMS。这位管理员原来负责本校使用的WebCT课程管理系统（由一家美国商业公司开发的CMS），但由于在使用WebCT过程中遇到的问题很多，不胜其烦，便在全球范围内发起了这样一个开源CMS项目，目的是能够为各国的高校提供一个能够符合高校教学特点和要求且无须付费购买的系统。 据统计，目前在世界范围内约有1800所高校在使用MOODLE，不过主要都分布于美国之外(Young, 2004)。根据MOODLE网站(http://moodle.org/)提供的信息，目前在世界115个国家中，约有超过50000名注册用户，所使用语言达到60种。 （资料来源：G. 开源软件 开源教育平台Sakai Sakai项目的初始倡导者为美国密西根大学和印地安那大学， 利用开源软件来合作开发CMS。随后，伴随着“开放知识行动” （OKI）和uPortal协会的支持，麻省理工学院和斯坦福大学也 接踵加入。2004年，借助于Andrew W.
