6 形容词的最高级的用法 1. 形容词的最高级前一般要加定冠词 the ，但如果其前有形容词性物主代词 或名词所有格等修饰语时，则不再用 定冠词 the 。如： This is the oldest theater in London. He is my / Tom’s best friend.

7 2. 形容词的最高级常与介词 in 或 of 短语连 用，说明比较范围。一般情况下，如果 主语与介词短语中的名词属于同一类， 用介词 of ；如果不是同一类，则用介词 in 。如： He is the tallest of these boys. Changjiang is the longest of all the river. Sam is the youngest in his class. Changjiang is the longest in China.

8 3. 形容词的最高级前可用序数词，二者 共同修饰后面的名词，其结构为 “the + 序数词 + 形容词的最高级 + 名词 ” 。 如： The Yellow River is the second longest river in China. 4. “one of + the + 形容词的最高级 + 复数 名词 ” ，意为 “ 最 …… 之一 ” 。如： Miss Wang is one of the most popular teachers in our school.
