3 TOPIC: GENRE A GENRE FILM is a movie that mostly fits, narratively and creatively, into one of the following categories: 电影类型主要符合叙述性和创造性的电影, 分为以下方面： Action 动作 Adventure冒险 Horror恐怖 Comedy喜剧 Comic Book 漫画 Drama 戏剧 Historical Epic历史史诗 Crime & Gangster犯罪和流氓 Science Fiction (“Sci-Fi”)科幻 Musicals音乐 War战争 Westerns西部电影 Definiton

4 TOPIC: GENRE A “pure” genre film is one that includes standard elements of the given genre: in classic horror movies, the bad guy or monster was often MADE evil by society treating him wrong, for instance. In a romantic comedy, the unlucky guy learns to change himself and grow, and THEN he gets the girl (sound familiar? 5 TOPIC: AESTHETICS 美学 AESTHETICS as a word refers to the study of art, beauty, and taste. 美学作为一个词, 是指对艺术、美和品味的研究 In film, when we talk about a movie’s aesthetic qualities, we are referring to the look and feel of a film. It is a sci-fi dystopian fantasy set in a future Earth, where the resources of the planet have become corrupted for evil purposes.
