4 English Cao planned a strategy to have his general, Cai, pretend to surrender to his enemy, Zhouyu. However, Zhouyu knew it was fake, so he created his own plan to fool Cao. Zhouyu’s general, Huang, pretended to suggest they should surrender to Cao. Zhouyu pretended to be furious and severely punishes him. Huang wrote a secret letter to Cao, declaring he will surrender and bring ships with food. Witnessing the act, Cai reported back to Cao, and Cao believed him. On the night the ships came, Cao noticed that the ships were too light to carry food. By the time he realized he was tricked, his ships could not escape and got burned down by Huang’s ships. The strategy is to fool a person by pretending to be injured.
