THE HISTORY 五百年前，哥伦布发现了新大陆．标志着欧洲文化登陆美洲，哥伦布当时用的帆，是一种坚韧、实用的粗糙布料做成。这种布料原产于法国一个小镇 NIMES，因此以法文取名 "Serge De Nimes"，而后被简称为 DENIM。(也就是单宁布) 另一个关于牛仔裤起源的故事，发生于意大利北部港口 Genoa。当地水手喜欢穿著一种用当地出产的粗糙而结实的布料做成的工作裤子，名为 "Jean"。名称由来是因当时的外来商旅叫港口工作的水手为 "Genoese" 之故。 而三百六十年后，一位犹太裔商把一种质料粗糙的帆布引入美国，因而缔造了牛仔裤历史性的的一页，同时亦建立了一个牛仔文化的神话王国，此人名叫 Levi Strauss.
