Ⅰ Analyze the Paragraph 1 “Save the Tigers” is a volunteer group that hopes to save the tigers of the world. Paragraph1 “Save the tigers” is a group of volunteers. These volunteers hope to save the tigers of the world. At the beginning of the 20th century, the number of tigers in the wild was around 100 000. But today that number has dropped to a few thousand.

Tigers are important to the environment. Ⅱ Analyze the Paragraph Paragraph 2 Tigers are important to the environment. Tigers live in the forests of Asia. They usually have orange fur and dark stripes. Tigers are symbols of the strength and courage. In many stories, they are brave. The tiger is at the top of the food chain. It helps keep the number of other wild animals in balance. For this reason, tigers are important to the enviroment.

Ⅲ Analyze the Paragraph Tigers are in danger of going extinct. In recent years, tiger have been in danger of disappearing. Some people hunt and kill tigers for money. People have cut down a lot of trees as well. As forests disappear, tigers lose their homes. The number of tigers in the wild is quickly decreasing and we must do something about it.

2. At the beginning of the 20th century, the number of tigers in the wild was around 100 000. 在二十世纪初期,野生老虎的数量大约是十万只。 at the beginning of :在….之初 eg. We will talk about this matter at the beginning of the next week. 我们将在下周初讨论这件事情。 3.the number of: 意为“……的数量”,后加名词,做主语时谓语动词要用单数形式: a number of: 意为“一些….”,后加可数复数名词。 eg. ①The number of the students in our class is 50. 我们班学生的数量是50. ②A number of students in our class like pop musics. 我们班有一些学生喜欢流行音乐。

8.For this reason, tigers are important to the environment. 因为这个原因,老虎对环境很重要。 be important to sb./sth. ……对……来说是重要的。 be important for sb./sth to do sth. 对于……来说做……是重要的。 eg: Time is important to me. 时间对于我来说很重要。 It is important for you to get there early. 对我来说早点到那是很重要的。

9. In recent years, tigers have been in danger of disappearing. 在近几年,老虎处于濒临灭绝的危险中。 in danger of意为“处于……危险之中”。 eg. The passengers are in danger! Let’s go and help! 乘客们处于危险中!我们快去帮忙! 10.
