Major influence in Korea, Japan, and Vietnam since the Tang Dynasty Much of Chinese architecture relies heavily on FengShui. Many buildings can still be seen today ex: the Forbidden City
General placement and ideology There must be balance and symmetry, the center becomes especially important because of this ideal. In the center, it is best to have open spaces Doors in front more important than sides, back is least important Back rooms are reserved for ancestors and the respected, the front are used for ceremonies More emphasis on width rather than height, has a large roof Use concepts of fengshui and Taoism, walls to block evil, water in the front, no windows to the cold north
Most of them have decorative tiles on them 屋顶也往天指。 They also point towards the heavens

Commoners generally had a set pattern, the center was to worship deities and there were 2 corridors that would constantly grow if the family grew, thus forming a U around the courtyard, the 2 sides were for elders while the 2 wings were for the younger members and also for other purposes In the Imperial Court, emperors used yellow and the dougong structure a lot, columns were red and supported the large roof that seemed to point towards the heaven, also had 5-claw dragon

Questions Which part of the building is the most important compared to others? (Hint: symmetry) There are 3 types of roofs, name them. What direction did roofs point towards? What one structure did the emperor use that common people did not?
I did not know that so much about Chinese architecture existed before, this includes information such as the 3 types of roofs and the structures emperors employed. I believe that Chinese architecture reflects the passion, strength, and intelligence of China。Chinese architecture is a factor of the specialties of China.
