A. Reports and Grades 报告和成绩 They contain 内容包括: Teacher grades and comments for each subject 每一门课程的成绩和评语 Principal’s comment 校长评语 Discipline Record & Conduct Points 考勤和行为积分 Rate of attendance by subject 每一门课程的出勤率

Reports and Grades 报告和成绩 Progress Report 进度报告 Comments are internal, for guidance only 评语为内部使用，用于对学生的指导 Grades now will contribute to final grades and final GPA 成绩将计入期末成绩，以及GPA Attendance and conduct are important, will go on transcript 出勤和操行表现将会出现在提交给大学的成绩单上 90% attendance needed to pass 出勤率达到90%才能及格 Discipline record and conduct points show study attitude 纪律记录和积分体现了学生的学习态度 Still time to change and improve 仍然有时间去改变和提高

SAT and TOEFL If necessary, take SAT, SAT Subject exams, and TOEFL before application deadlines 如果有必要，在截止申请期限之前参加托福、SAT或SAT II考试 School will support year 3 students by allowing 1 day leave for SATs in Hong Kong, ½ day leave for TOEFL in mainland China 学校允许学生参加在香港的SAT考试时请假1天，参加在国内的托福考试时请假半天

Recommendation letters推荐信 Talk to teachers and request letters of recommendation和老师交谈，并请求老师写推荐信 Students using agents still need recommendations使用外部中介的学生也需要推荐信 Best recommendations are from teachers, who know you well, and will be positive, using good English推荐信最好由老师提供。老师了解学生，会比较正面，使用恰当的英文。 Make sure you are polite when making request在要求老师写推荐信时，请确保有礼貌 Allow enough time给老师预留足够的时间 Teachers will only provide references through reliable system (e.g. Common Application) 老师只通过可靠的系统（例如常规申请系统）提供推荐信 If deadline is approaching, remind recommenders如果临近截止日期，请提醒推荐人 Make sure you thanks your recommenders afterwards记得拿到推荐信之后感谢推荐人

Common Application system常规申请系统 The school will use the Common Application system学校会使用常规申请系统 Used for undergraduate admissions by over 400 colleges and universities超过400个大专院校的大学招生部门使用这个系统 Uses letters of recommendation and application essay, not just GPA 申请时不仅提供GPA，还要提供推荐信和大学申请文书 Nearly all top college/universities the Common Application几乎所有的顶级大学都使用常规申请系统 Submitted electronically提供电子版的材料 Many schools ask for supplemental essay, often submitted via Common Application website许多学校会要求提供辅助文书，通常是通过常规申请系统在网上提交

Deadlines截止日期 Make sure you know all the deadlines: SAT, TOEFL, early application, early decision, college essay确定你了解所有的截止日期：SAT、托福、提早申请、提早决定、大学文书等。 Keep track of all application components: applications, test scores, letters of recommendation, etc.了解所有申请时需要提交文件的情况：申请、考试成绩、推荐信等 An incomplete application will ruin your chances for admission如果申请没有完成，会毁掉你被录取的机会 Whether you are applying through the school or using an agent, it is your application – make sure you are in control不论是通过学校，还是通过外部中介申请，请牢记 – 这是你自己的申请，确保它在你的掌控当中

Extracurricular work课外活动 College application strengthened by good extracurricular activities参加好的课外活动对大学申请有积极地帮助 Think about how activities will make you a better college student考虑这些活动怎样帮助你成为一个更好的大学学生 One or two good activities better than long list of pointless activities参加一、二个好的活动好过参加很多意义不大的活动 Colleges like to see evidence of leadership, so think how your activities show this (e.g. event organizer)大学希望看到学生的领袖才能，考虑一下怎样体现这些（例如组织活动等）
