Dragon Boat Festival 端午节 The Dragon Boat Festival, the 5th day of the 5th month in the Chinese lunar calendar, has had a history of more than 2,000 years. It is usually in June in the Solar calendar. 端午节(农历五月初五)是中国古老的传统节日,始于春秋战国时期,至今已有2000多年历史。通常在阳历的六月份。
The origins of Dragon Boat Festival 端午节的来历 the story of QuYuan 屈原的故事 Qu was a minister of the State of Chu, during theWarring States Period(475-221BC)(战国时期). Qu grabbed a large stone and leapt into the Miluo River on the fifth day of the fifth month. The people of Chu who mourned the death of Qu threw rice into the river to feed his ghost every year on the fifth day of the fifth month. 屈原是战国时期楚国的大夫,他抱着石头跳入了汨罗江而死。人们在每年的农历五月初五,屈原的祭日,将米饭扔到河里祭祀鬼神以纪念屈原。
