22 Unit 6 YASKAWA robot YASKAWA Part1 YASKAWA and YASKAWA robot The YASKAWA Electric Corporation is the world's largest manufacturer of AC Inverter Drives, Servo and Motion Control, and Robotics Automation Systems.The company was founded in 1915, and its head office is located in Japan. In the late 1960s, YASKAWA Electric led the world in putting forward the concept of “mechatronics”. This concept evolved when YASKAWA combined its customers’ machinery with YASKAWA’s electric products to create superior quality and function.

Starting with arc weiding for automobile production, for which YASKAWA remian a market leader, YASKAWA robots have assumed an active role in every industrial field including welding, packaging, assembly, coating, cutting, material handling and general automation, as well as handling and transport in clean rooms for liquid crystal, organic EL displays and semiconductor manufacturing, as shown in Figure 6-1.
